Here we are with another blog income report! If you missed last month’s report, you can check it out here. November 2021 was a slow month for brand collaborations, which surprised me, especially with it being the holiday season. Most brands told my manager that they used up their budgets for the year and are interested in connecting in January 2022. Let’s dive into the November 2021 Blog Income Report.

Why Share Blog Income Reports?

  1. Growth Tracking & Review – income reports will help me keep track of my expenses and actually force me to review T&T progress on a month to month basis. It’s so important to look at numbers and data, but sometimes that is a task that gets put on the backburner. This information will help me pivot my growth strategy and cut expenses when needed.
  2. Transparency – being transparent about the numbers will help our readers understand how we make money and what we spend money on. I hope this will help take the mystery out of how to make money as a content creator
  3. Inspiration – sharing these numbers will hopefully inspire others to start charging for their content creation

November 2021 Notes

At first, I was nervous to share this report because I operated at a loss this month. But I think it’s important to show that it’s okay if the net total comes out to be negative some months. Here are my main notes from this month.

  1. My manager fee was higher than expected this month. My manager takes 20% of all deals and if I don’t hit a minimum amount the month prior, I pay an extra fee. I thought I hit the minimum, but because the deals were booked during the summer, they didn’t count towards this month’s count. So this amount was way higher than I expected to pay.
  2. I started paying for a new software called Calendly to allow people to book Pick My Brain sessions with me. I‘m looking forward to offering this new service.
  3. Client gifting – this is my first year ever buying client gifts. I sent gifts to my top paying clients to show my appreciation and with hopes of booking new business with them in the new year. This is the perfect way for me to get back on their radar and to say thank you for your business.

November 2021 Takeaways

My main takeaways this month are I need to diversify my revenue streams in case there are more slow months like this one. This is one of the reasons why I added a Pick My Brain session. This is something my readers have been asking for, so I’m finally listening. I also think it’s time to increase the price of my digital product, The Influencer Rate Calculator. The results my customers have seen since using the calculator justifies the price increase. I am also debating offering an affiliate program to encourage customers to share this resource with others.
