I don’t usually wear bras, but when I do, I make sure they are comfortable and ethical. I never thought I could find a bra that was both of those things due to my horrible experiences with bras being uncomfortable in the past and due to the vast amount of greenwashing going on in the world. I’m happy to say I was able to find that comfortable, ethical bras do exists thanks to quite a few brands out there. Here are 3 ethical lingerie brands you’ll love.

This post features gifted items from a previous collaboration with Lara Intimates and Organic Basics denoted by *.

1. Organic Basics

This Denmark company sells comfy basics for women and men with sizes ranging from XS-XL. Organic Basics is upfront and transparent about their factories by listing factory certs, factory roles, employee benefits, employee hours, and more. They also are reducing their environmental footprint by using recycled and organic materials. And most importantly, they pay their workers’ liveable wages.

Organic Basics Black Triangle Bra

This Organics Basics Triangle Bra* is the newest bra in my collection. I was surprised by how comfortable I was wearing this bra and how soft it is; GOTS organic cotton FOR THE WIN! (Do people still say this?)

I was worried that the XS bra might be a little too tight, but it fit my 32 A boobs perfectly. It also gives me some cleavage, which is something that rarely ever happens.

2. Naja

Founded by two major girl bosses, this lingerie company is one after my own heart. What first caught my eye about this company is that their nude underwear comes in SEVEN different shades ranging from 32A-38DDD. No more awkward nudes that are way to pale for skin tones of color.

Naja’s sustainable lingerie is digitally printed, which reduces water waste, and includes fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles. They also pay their employees above-market wages, while providing their employees’ children with school supplies, uniforms, and meals. This is just a brief overview of all of the good this company is doing.

Ethical True Nude Bra - Naja Anais Bra

I can’t believe that it took me this long to find a “true” nude bra. Here I am wearing a 32B in the Anais Bra in the color Nude 04. I still can’t get over how nicely this color matches my skin tone. Woot woot!

3. Lara Intimates

Lara Intimates Wren Bra - Ethical Lingerie Brand

Another amazing company founded by two girl bosses, Lara Intimates creates sustainable lingerie in their all-female factory located in East London. Their lingerie is made from reclaimed luxury surplus fabrics and dyed responsibly. They also package their products with locally made eco-friendly sources. What makes Lara Intimates stand out is they make finding your bra size simple with their online find my size tool. They basically eliminated the need for crazy complicated calculations to determine bra size.

I actually did a video showing how to use their find my size tool. It turns out I wear a size 30B in the Wren Bra (sold out, similar here). This bra is comfy, cute, and best of all it fits perfectly. Yay for bras that fit!
