Why Share Blog Income Reports?

  1. Growth Tracking & Review – income reports will help me keep track of my expenses and actually force me to review T&T’s progress on a month to month basis. It’s so important to look at numbers and data, but sometimes that is a task that gets put on the backburner. This information will help me pivot my growth strategy and cut expenses when needed.
  2. Transparency – being transparent about the numbers will help our readers understand how we make money and what we spend money on. I hope this will help take the mystery out of how to make money as a content creator.
  3. Inspiration – sharing these numbers will hopefully inspire others to start charging for their content creation.

December 2021 Notes

Since doing these reports, I’ve realized I have been a little careless with my expenses. This month I continued to cut back on expenses.

  1. After doing some review, I realized I don’t need to use a video editor. Not using an editor this month gave me the chance to revisit editing videos myself. I forgot how much I missed editing. It’s such a fun creative process.
  2. I negotiated payment & services with my PR Manager because I didn’t need all of the services I was paying for. We came to a mutual agreement that will lower my monthly expenses.
  3. This month I made the decision to switch from MailChimp to ConvertKit. I kept having problems with email delivery for my digital product. Convert Kit has fixed all of my problems. Thank goodness!

December 2021 Takeaways

My main takeaway this month is outsourcing is not always the answer. This year I was super focused on outsourcing to help grow my business, but I think I went a little bit overboard. Now I’m only outsourcing the services I absolutely need.

End of Year Review:

2021 Blogger Income Streams

This year I earned a total of $54,258. The majority of my income came from brand deals. I was really happy that digital products were my next highest income stream at 5.6%. In 2022, I’d like to increase my digital sales. I’d also like to do more modeling and speaking engagements.

2021 Breakdown:

Digital Products $3,100
Speaking Engagements$1,000
Ad Revenue$681
Modeling$580
