I am the weirdo that doesn’t like to listen to music while driving. For a while, I would actually just drive in silence. That is until I realized podcasts were a thing. Now my car rides are a lot more interesting and educational. Podcasts have also made cleaning and thrifting much more enjoyable for me. Who needs music, when you can have podcasts? (This may or may not be a radical statement to some.) Anyways, here are three podcasts you will love.

Podcasts You Will Love

1. 99% Invisible

This podcast explores architecture and design elements in our everyday world.  The topics range from the design of emojis to the design movie props.  Even the topics that don’t seem interesting, like skateparks or basketball (I’m not a sports fan), are able to hold my interest.  It also helps that the host, Roman Mars, has an oh so soothing voice. They dive into racial issues, environmental issues, and other systematic issues, which is unexpected from a simple design podcast. My favorite episode is the one about basketball (ep. 199)

2. Trash Talking with Eco Warriors

This podcast shares stories of female entrepreneurs passionate about the environment and sustainability. Each week, Barbara Lee, interviews an eco-warrior and delves into their journey of becoming a green-business owner. This podcast is a great source of inspiration for anyone interested in opening their own business or anyone interested in living a more conscious lifestyle. It’s also great for discovering new ethical companies. My favorite episode is the one about Better Farm (ep. 11).

3. Socialista

This podcast highlights Las Vegas local artists and small-business owners and really encourages listeners to shop locally. Guests share their backstories, their perspective on the growth of the city, and their favorite spots in town. Whether you’re a Vegas local or an out-of-towner, this podcast is worth listening to. Be sure to take notes on things to do in Vegas. Fun Fact: The host, Brianna Fox-Priest, records the podcast in a tiny house located downtown. My favorite episode is the one about the Hydrant Club (ep. 16).
